Brian O’Leary, Chairperson of the County Development Board welcomes the publication and launch of the first ever County Strategy “Meitheal Chiarraí” Text Box: The Kerry County Development Board reached an important milestone on Friday, 14th June, 2002 with the launch of the County Strategy “Meitheal Chiarraí”. The title of the Strategy perfectly describes the co-operative nature of the approach to the development and delivery of the Strategy. MeiText Box: theal Chiarraí contains 118 objectives across five sectoral areas. The Strategy is intended to deliver real, tangible and lasting benefits to the people of Kerry. I am pleased to report that progress has already been recorded on implementation, much of which is highlighted in this newsletter. My thanks to the members of the Board past and present for their work, to the members of the public for their submissions and to the staff of the Community & Enterprise Department, Kerry County Council. We have achieved our first objective and the Board will continue to work collaboratively to meet the realistic expectations of the people of Kerry. Cllr.
